NABTEB Releases Nov/Dec. 2017 Exams Results | 21,159 of 40,746 pass English, Maths

The National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) has said only 21,159 out of the 40,746 candidates that sat for the 2017 Certificate Examination passed English Language and Mathematics, representing 52.7 per cent.
NABTEB Registrar, Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe , who disclosed this in Benin while announcing the release of the results of the 2017 National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, said 31,369 candidates scored five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics representing 78.19 per cent.
She said a total of 45,088 candidates enrolled for the examinations in 1,786 centres across the country but that only 40,746 candidates wrote the examination and 759 candidates were involved in examination malpractice
Federal and State Ministries of Education and other critical stakeholders have been urged to give priority to Technical and Vocational Education Training in a move to fight unemployment and youth restiveness.
The Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, Professor Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe made the appeal while formally announcing the release of the 2017 NBC, NTC, ANBC and ANTC examinations results at NABTEB Headquarters in Benin City.
